If you are looking for the best-of-the-best when it comes to studio workstation desks, you've found it in the AZ Vista Studio Workstation Desk. It's big, thoughtfully constructed, designed specifically for music production, and accommodates up to 36 rack spaces and an 88 key keyboard. It looks good, performs perfectly, and it's built by my favorite studio desk company, AZ Studio Workstations out of Los Angeles. The desk's grommets are placed everywhere you need them for slick cable management and comes with heavy-duty casters for easy movement and repositioning should you need to swap cables or clean under or behind your studio workstation. The desk comes with a 2 year warranty, and can be customized upon request, but the stock black melamine and real wood (Ash) molding is beautiful and you'll be happy with purchasing the stock version. It's an expensive option, but if you're serious about music production this is the desk you should buy. The quality is unparalleled. Manufactured By AZ Studio Workstations | Model Number B00KMDF3SO Desk Specifications Height: 40" | Width: 101" | Depth: 40" | Weight: 600 pounds

One of my favorite studio workstation desks for musicians and audio/vdeo experts is the Force 36 studio desk from Omnirax. This big, sturdy workstation offers you two 4-space rack bays and two 2-space bays above the desk and two 12-space rack bays below the desk surface. That's a ton of space for all of your components and peripherals. The desk also features a winde monitor shelf (it's 13.5" deep and 42.2" wide) on which you can place multiple large video monitors to set up your ideal workstation. The keyboard mouse shelf is sturdy and adjustable, which is a nice feature in the Omnirax Force 36, and at 6'2" I found there to be plenty of leg room between the lower cabinets and below the keyboard tray. If you're a taller guy, you'll love the Force 36 workstation. Like every premium studio desk, there are heavy duty casters so you can move the unit easily to upgrade cables or switch components on your workstation with very little effort. The black melamine laminate of the Force 36 workstation is high quality and offers a sleek, clean look and durable surface that can take some punishment. This studio desk is worth the price, you won't need to upgrade. Manufactured By Omnirax | Model Number FRC36-B Desk Specifications Height: 39.5" | Width: 92.7" | Depth: 40.3" | Weight: 377 pounds

AZ Studio is the best-of-the-best in my view as far as manufacturing beautiful, high-quality, and durable studio workstations. Their Pro 88 Keys unit is excellent for musicians looking for a studio desk with space for a large keyboard. Equally at home in a professional or home studio, the AZ-Pro 88 studio desk is modern and attractive. The work surfaces are a high-end black melamine, offset with attractive PVC molding. I love the look of this one. The studio desk offers an 88 keyboard shelf which slides smoothly in and out from underneath the desk surface, allowing you flexible options in how you work and how you use your music production desk throughout the day. With 28 rack spaces, the Pro Studio desk has all the room you'll need, and comes with heavy-duty casters that make it easy to move in your home or studio to quickly and comfortably update cabling and components. The desk comes with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind on your purchase. You'll love it ... it's a quality piece that will last you for years as your music production studio grows and changes. Manufactured By AZ Studio Workstations | Model Number AZPRO88 Desk Specifications Height: 31.5" | Width: 85" | Depth: 32" | Weight: 350 pounds

If you don't need space for a large keyboard in your music production desk, consider this model - which offers the same features of the Pro 88 Keys workstation, but more space for your peripherals since you don't have the large keyboard tray in this model. With 36 rack spaces and room for a 61 key controller, this desk will work great for just about any music production professional that doesn't need a large keyboard tray to accommodate 88 keys. Made of the same high quality, attractive black melamine with beige PVC molding, the AZ-Pro Studio Workstation Desk is beautiful and well made. It'll last you for years, and comes with a 2-year warranty for added peace of mind. The casters make re-positioning the workstation in your home or professional studio easy, and allows you to adjust cabling on your workstation with ease. At 450 pounds, this desk is a beast and working at it you'll enjoy the feel of a strong, well-made, high-quality piece of furniture that will inspire you every day to do your best work. I highly recommend everything AZ Studio manufactures, and this one is no exception. This rugged studio desk features steel-frame construction and weighs in at a robust 140 pounds. You can expect it to stand up to heavy use, and we loved that the main tier of the workstation is large enough to accomodate an 88 key keyboard and dual 20-space racks on either side so everything you need is at your fingertips. You can place your computer monitors in the upper tier and there are two small tray sfore computer keyboards. One feature which makes this studio desk especially nice to use for music production is the cable organizers on the back, allowing you to keep your cords and cables tight and tidy for a cleaner look and less frustration should you need to change something out in the future. The Studio RTA Producer's station is equipped with locking casters, making it easy to move and re-position if you need to clean your space, or need to move it to gain access to the cables in the rear of the desk. With ample rack space, a clean, ergonomic design, and a hefty (yet mobile) footprint, this product from Studio RTA would be a welcome addition to any professional or hobbyist music production studio. Manufactured By Studio RTA | Model Number 50041 Desk Specifications Height: 41" | Width: 72" | Depth: 30" | Weight: 140 pounds

This lightweight, modern workstation is great for tight spaces, or for beginners. It offers sturdy construction, and an attractive design that complements most music production setups in the home studio. It will comfortably hold up to 175 pounds of components. The legs are tubular steel, providing great stability and strength despite the desk's relatively light weight. I love the motion and feel of the keyboard tray, which offered adequate ergonomic positioning for me, something I was concerned about with this unit as a taller guy (I'm 6'2"). If you're on a budget or need a studio workstation for a small at home studio, this is my favorite narrow unit. Manufactured By OnStage | Model Number WS7500RB Desk Specifications Height: 37.5" | Width: 43" | Depth: 30" | Weight: 76.1 pounds

The Belaire L-Shaped desk by Z-Line Designs is a great L-Shaped workstation that you can use for music production in a home studio. Sure it's not as heavy, and does not have the same capacity and flexibility as one of the professional studio desks mentioned earlier on this list, but it's a great desk that has excellent reviews, offers a great amount of workspace, and an attractive modern design that most at-home music producers will love. The base is powder coated and the horizontal surfaces are tempered safety glass, which can stand up to heavy use. The raised monitor shelf can be used for your monitors, or (as a studio desk) it can be used for speakers and other peripherals with your monitors mounted separately to the desk frame (what I would recommend). The Belaire is a great buy, and will work for many folks hoping to furnish an at-home production studio on a budget. One of my favorite options for those just starting out. Manufactured By Z-Line Designs | Model Number ZL1441-1DU Desk Specifications Height: 37" | Width: 60" | Depth: 24" | Weight: 96.45 pounds

If you want an L-shaped workstation for your studio, but want to stay away from glass for fear of damage to your components, consider the HomCom 67" workstation, which offers a warm, modern design and some flexible features that will make it a nice choice for many home music production studios. The silver powder coated frame is really attractive with the warm wood finish (it's MDF with a durable veneer coating). The privacy panels are great for music production as they give you a flexible way to keep your cabling hidden and clean so your workstation doesn't look sloppy. With a weight capacity of 110 pounds, this desk cannot accommodate as many racks and peripherals as many of the other desks on this list, but if that weight capacity is within your acceptable range, this clean, modern, and budget-friendly l-shaped studio desk could be a solid choice for your home studio. Manufactured By HOMCOM | Model Number A2-0076 Desk Specifications Height: 34.25" | Width: 41.5" | Depth: 26" | Weight: 89 pounds

This budget-friendly, lightweight workstation may be designed for use with a computer, but we love how it works for music production. The dark cherry finish and black accents look sharp and inviting, and the clear tempered glass of the desk surface creates a really slick look which you can customize with rope lights or LEDs to make your studio workstation a real show-stopper. It comes with casters so that you can easily move your entire workstation out away from the wall to swap up cables or wiring or to install new components to your music production desk. This is not a heavy-duty studio desk at under 80 pounds, but it's a great value for those looking for a studio workstation on a budget. One of our favorite options for value-oriented shoppers who have a smaller studio space. Manufactured By Z-Line Designs | Model Number ZL2200-01WSU Desk Specifications Height: 36" | Width: 48" | Depth: 26" | Weight: 73 pounds

At about $100, this compact desk can be a great cheap studio workstation for home offices and music production studios where square footage is at a premium. It's sturdy, attractive, and offers a very handy set of shelves and drawers to accommodate most of your components and peripherals better than many other desks in this price range. The frame is powder coated steel and the pvc-veneered MDF panels are pretty and quite sturdy. I love that this cheap studio desk offers a 5-year limited warranty (it's almost a no-risk purchase between this and the low price), and ships in a small, well-packaged box so it's easy to bring in to your apartment or home. The accessory shelves each have a 30 pound weight capacity according to Techni Mobili (the manufacturer), so keep that in mind when deciding if this studio workstation will work for you. Manufactured By Techni Mobili | Model Number RTA-2706-WG01 Desk Specifications Height: 38" | Width: 35" | Depth: 22" | Weight: 52 pounds
